Virtual Games & Cake - 19:00, Fri 16/10 - HackSoc Discord (The Pod)

Join us in adapting our age-old Boardgames and Cake to a virtual setting in our Discord server, where we check in with each other and play games including Jackbox and Uno!

Unfortunately, we can’t bring and share cake, but we can make our own and post them on Slack.

For Virtual Games & Cake this week, try out a Tea & Spice Cake! Make sure you post your finished creation in the #food channel in Slack.

Ingredients

• 1 cup of raisins
• 1/3 cup of margarine
• 1 + 1/4 cup of tea
• 1 cup of brown sugar
• 1 ts cinnamon
• 1 ts nutmeg
• 1/2 ts ginger
• 1 pinch of cloves
• 1 ts of dried rosemary
• 2 cups of flour
• 5 ts baking powder
• 1/2 ts salt

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius
2. Combine the tea, margarine, raisins, sugar, and spices in a small pan, bring to a boil and keep boiling for three minutes
3. Set aside to cool
4. In a mixing bowl, seive the flour, the baking powder, and the salt
5. Once the liquids have cooled, add them to the mixture and combine
6. Cook for ~40 minutes
